Latest update on Print & Projected Image Finals …

The IPF Print and Projected Images competition is almost upon us so mark your diaries for this must see photographic event, which returns to Athlone Institute of Technology on February 11th/12th.

Saturday, February 11th will comprise of a lecture at 10am and a workshop in the afternoon by Tony Worobiec, FRPS on landscape photography.

The competition itself will be held on Sunday, February 12th and the categories this year are: an Open Section in Monochrome Print, Colour Print, and Projected Images catering for advanced and intermediate photographers.

There will also be a special theme section in each of the categories. Colour Print theme will be Coastal Ireland; Monochrome Prints theme will be Irish Environmental Portraiture; and Projected Image theme will be People.

The judges in this years competition are Tony Worobiec, FRPS from the UK; Glyn Edmunds ARPS, EFIAP/s, EPSA from the UK and Richard Dister EPSA from Belgium.

This year Epson have once again kindly agreed to sponsor prizes for the PPI finals. As in previous years they are providing seven boxes of paper for the gold medal winners of the open categories at both non-advanced and advanced levels. There will also be a box of paper for the overall winner.

Please note that the Creggan Court hotel is offering a special rate to IPF members for the weekend of €50 per single room per night or €40 per person sharing per night.

On the Saturday night at 7pm, the IPF will host a dinner at the Creggan Court. Tickets are €20 each and can be booked through the hotel.

Early booking for both the rooms and dinner is advised, as this is the weekend leading up to Valentine’s Day and is expected to be busy!





Tony Worobiec FRPS Lecture & Book

The IPF is proud to present a lecture and workshop by Tony Worobiec FRPS on the weekend of the IPF Print & Projected Image competition on the 11th and 12th of February. This is a fantastic opportunity to see a talented and very entertaining lecturer.

The lecture and workshop will take place on Saturday 11th February, staring at 10am. The format will be a lecture in the morning and a workshop in the afternoon.

Tony has written several books and his most recent publication "The Landscape Photographers Bible" will be on sale over the weekend. He has had articles published in photographic magazines and journals in numerous countries, including the UK and the USA.

Tony’s new book “The Landscape Photographer’s Bible” deals with technical issues, approaches to landscape and popular and less popular landscape subjects, and is a must read for anyone with a passion for landscape photography. The book has an RRP of STG£16.99 but is being made available for a special PPI weekend price of €15 when pre-ordered via the IPF website.

Places for the workshop and lecture are limited and pre-booking through www.irishphoto.ie is strongly advised.
